Mark Kennard, CFA, boasts over 30 years of experience in asset management and investment consulting, having played a significant role in the evolution of the advisory industry from the beginning of the separately managed account platforms, to the introduction of the mutual fund asset allocation models, and of late the role of low-cost passive investments. With a career largely spent at Smith Barney's Consulting Group, Mr. Kennard has managed both individual and institutional relationships, excelling in research and analysis, client service, and business development. His expertise spans from serving as a fundamental equity analyst and portfolio manager during the inception of separately managed account platforms to working as a capital market and investment product analyst and strategist. As a Senior Vice-President of the Consulting Group and Investment Officer of proprietary asset allocation mutual funds, Mr. Kennard was responsible for fund structure and management, developing various investment vehicles, and managing $13 billion in discretionary institutional relationships. Additionally, he has been actively involved in industry professional development as a speaker, writer, and educator on topics such as performance analysis, decision-making, trustee and advisor investment best practices, and portfolio construction.
